The Shane Warne Foundation
Our mission is to enrich the lives of seriously ill and under privileged children and teenagers in Australia. We are an umbrella Foundation, meaning we raise money through events donations and corporate sponsorship, and distribute those funds to a diverse cross section of charities and individuals who work hands on in these areas. We do this as it relieves the constant burden of fund raising faced by these great organizations and people, so they can effectively handle the day to day needs of the brave children they support.

Tour Duchenne
The Tour Duchenne ‘Million Dollar Challenge’ is a bike ride with a difference. Like the name suggests our aim is to raise $1 million for research into Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy to help find a cure for one of the most insidious diseases that affects boys early in their lives.
At present, there is no cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. A devastating, progressive muscle-destroying disorder, it confines kids to an electric wheelchair prematurely and significantly reduces their life expectancy.
However there is hope. And that hope comes in the form of research and, most importantly, money for research.

la Licorne
La Licorne » is an association created by Pierrette Bres, a retired horse racing TV commentator. The association aims to help children affected by mental illness and behavioural problems, mainly Autism, through therapy with horses. Through her association Pierrette Bres shares with these children her passion of horses and sees the beneficial effects contact with ponies has on Autistic children.
Thus to continue to develop the discovery of new feelings and in turn a marked improvement in the children’s’ behaviour, the association has launched several new concepts around different auxiliary therapies: “The discovery of the sea and marine life” by organising boat outings; the set up of a video studio with computers and cameras to teach the children to discover their own image as well as recreational days with clowns and magicians with face painting and costumes offered by the association.
The amazing results encourage the development of their minds but are also a real ray of hope for their parents. Some autistic children can really improve their behaviour and go on to have a career under tutorage whilst also being independent.
“All these activities and projects couldn’t be realised without the generosity of our donors, so we would like to send our heartfelt thanks to BGC for its loyal support of our association which will enable us next year to carry out our project to construct a small equestrian centre for the children…”

We work with people with a range of challenges such as autism, dementia, mental health problems, depression, physical and learning disabilities and life-threatening or terminal illnesses.
Music therapy is a specialist use of music to help people in many different ways – for some it has physical benefits, for others emotional or social ones. It helps many to communicate where they have struggled to do so previously.
The results of music therapy can have a profound impact on individuals and their families and all those around them. As one user said recently, “I simply couldn’t live without this music every week.”
We work in our own music therapy centres, in schools, community centres, hospitals and care homes. We also train music therapists through their own Masters degree programme.
